Santa Fe Tapas Restaurant and Bar has included the increasingly popular ‘Bill Cosby’ to their drink menu. Already famous for their house Margarita, co-owner Charlotte Ergun says they did not expect the clever mix to take off the way it has.

The ‘Cosby’ is a mix of Santa Fe’s very famous and award-winning frozen Margarita and frozen watermelon Margarita. Actually spelled “Cause-Be,” this special drink has taken a life and pronunciation all-its-own inside and outside the St. Charles restaurant, which also serves Southwest and New Latin cuisine.

“The drink came about by accident as many great things do,” says Ergun. Originally a concoction that was put together by staff one night during closing,  the Cause-Be has since become the cause of constant traffic during Santa Fe’s 4-6 pm happy hours. Santa Fe has a sister establishment on Esplanade Ave., but this St. Charles location is the only one serving the Cause-Be. (1327 St. Charles Ave., NOLA, 70130, 504-304-9915)
